OUR INITIATIVES

BUILDING COMMUNITY TOGETHER

Freewill Advocates of Midland meets the immediate needs and provides advocacy and support for individuals and families in our community.

Larry Lewis, our Community Liaison Director, had the privilege of visiting the Midland ISD Family Support Center, where he met with the incredible Tasha Meeks-Stephens, Family Support Coordinator.

Thanks to the generosity of our financial supporters, Freewill Advocates of Midland has been able to deliver products to support students and their families.

Freewill Advocates of Midland researches, documents, preserves, and shares the stories of Midland’s people, neighborhoods, schools, churches, businesses, and families so that future generations understand the community they inherited.

In January 1946, President Harry S. Truman appealed to Americans to donate clothing for men, women, and children living in war-devastated countries.

Midland, Texas responded generously. Residents contributed enough garments to fill one-half of a railroad car.

Helping load those boxes onto the train were the Midland African American Boy Scouts of Troop 104.
